Congrats Darren Gass, Ph.D.!

Darren defended his dissertation titled “Mechanistic Characterization and Application of Ion/Ion Reactions between Fluoranthene and Metal-Adducted Biomolecules”. The past few years, Darren has become an expert in fragmentation and ion/ion reactions techniques which has resulted in a culmination of papers. Check out his work here and stay tuned for future works:

  • Metal adduction in mass spectrometric analyses of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates (10.1002/mas.21801)

  • Evidence of H/D Exchange within Metal-Adducted Carbohydrates after Ion/Ion-Dissociation Reactions (10.1021/jacs.3c05793)

  • Formation of Carbohydrate-Metal Adducts from Solvent Mixtures during Electrospray: A Molecular Dynamics and ESI-MS Study (10.1021/jasms.1c00179)

Darren has accepted an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow in Tonzhong Ju’s Lab at the Food and Drug Association. We wish him good luck with his future endeavors! Sic ‘em Darren!
