Advanced Instrumentation Workshop 2023
The Gallagher Group taught the Proteomics session at the Advanced Instrumentation Workshop. This year we had students from primarily undergraduate institutions all across Texas and even Oklahoma and Arkansas come to Baylor to get hands on experience with chemical instrumentation. Jess Conforti, Darren Gass, and Jacob Hatvany led several sessions introducing students to tandem mass spectrometry on an orbitrap mass spectrometer. We used Collision Induced Dissociation to sequence a peptide and looked at how commercial software can be utilized to sequence full proteomes.
